====== Saint Titmous Eve ====== St. Titmous is thought to be a figure of folk-lore, as he (or she) is not an official Catholic Saint. St. Titmous eve, like Halloween today, was the time of celebration rather than the following day itself. The reason for this was that St. Titmous day marked a day of extremely hard work in the fields. At around this time of the year, at the start of September, harvesting and other activities such as winnowing, tying, and milling would be in full swing. Farmworkers would often consider St. Titmous to be watching them, keeping them safe from harm during these busy times and granting them strength to keep going over the next few particularly demanding and important weeks. St. Titmous Eve was a time when land workers would gather and eat, perhaps drink a little mead, and come together as a group ready for the hard work that was to come. The date of St Titmous Eve seems to depend on the state of the crops and the need of the harvest but was generally around early September. During [[kondaybistiming|Kondaybis]], people would toast and give thanks to Saint Titmous for keeping them safe from harm and in high spirits. People would also be presented with [[crowns|Crowns of Saint Titmous]] for winning games during the Kondaybis celebrations.
